If I cannot mount a tire by hand or at least with a tire iron and little pressure I will guarantee you I would find another tire. I am not about to be in the middle of no where and not be able to change a tube pretty easily. I use Conti Grand Pr 4000 and they can be hard but doable and after a few times of re-mounting they get much easier by hand. The Kool Stop is probably the answer I would get one just because it works easier .
