Loose in Ksryium Wheel
Got back from a ride last week and on walking the bike to put it away heard something inside my rear wheel. Pulled the wheel off the bike, removed the tire and tube, and proceeded to try and shake what ever was sliding around in there to the valve hole. I never got what ever it was to where I could actually see it.Then the noise just stopped. It must have lodged somewhere in the wheel. Really weird. All the spokes seem OK. Any thoughts on this?

I believe ksyrium rims have a counter weight inside the rim that should be set in place on the opposite side of the rim from the valve hole. You can see where it is held in place by the small sharp punch marks on the inside of the rim where the rim tape normally goes. Sometimes those things break loose and rattle around inside the rim. I usually try to position them back in place and use a sharp punch in the original spot to set them back in place or add some two part epoxy.
It will be difficult with a ksyrium rim due to no spoke holes to get a visual of the location if the counterweight is just floating around in there.

I was wondering if they had balance weights installed. That could be it.
