Campy part needed

I have an Athena rear derailleur that I want to use on a build, but this particular derailleur lacks a B set screw and instead has a washer like device with teeth on it which sets the angle of the derailleur. I have lost the part and need another. Do any of you have one for sale. Also, if you know, can I use the derailleur without it if I find a washer to take up the space around the derailleur bolt as it goes into the hanger? I'll post two pictures that tell the story. Thanks in advance.

The part you are looking for is referred to as "upper body bushing" and is part number 7116112. Your derailleur was made sometime between 1988 but before 1994. From what I can tell, I believe this part/design was unique to Athena.

Happy hunting and good luck

Not the same part number may work just the same:

To answer your question about not using the toothed bushing....you of course can try taking up the space with a washer but there will be nothing preventing the derailleur from pivoting into/contacting your rear cogs. This was short lived design. I believe Athena of that era was 7-speed and Campy's index shifting was sub-par.....what shifters are you planning on using?

Edit: The Athena derailleur you have was designed around 6/7 speed system depending on if they were using Record Synchro shift levers and how they were set up. With a friction shifter setup your limit would primarily be the swing of the derailleur.

"Victory" rear derailleurs also used this toothed bushing.

It always struck me as a poor design. The toothed bushing easily goes missing and renders the whole derailleur useless.

I really appreciate your responses and expertise. I did buy the item you pointed out on ebay, hoping it will work. I could not see a difference. Thanks for finding the part and letting me know. I am not sure which shifters I will use, but I have some that came with the gruppo so I'll try to use them.
