Shimano 7701 Dura Ace

I have a dura ace 7701 chainset.

I am really struggling to find out of the 7701 upgrade to 7700 uses a octalink 1 or 2 bottom bracket.

As I understand if you get it wrong the threads will get chewed up.

Thanks for helping

Dura-ace and almost all Shimano road octalink uses V1 bottom brackets.

It's not the threads that are different, they use the same crank bolts. They have different splines and are not cross compatible at all. You would have to force one onto the other, it's the splines inside the crank that would get damaged.

velobase says octalink 1 VeloBase.com - Component: Shimano Dura-Ace 7700
Life is too short not to ride the best bike you have, as much as you can
(looking for Torpado Super light frame/fork or for Raleigh International frame fork 58cm)
