Schwalbe Marathon Supreme
There are 2 types of the Marathon Supreme tires listed on Schwalbe’s website for 700x40 tires, MicroSkin/TL Easy and V-guard. In the V-guard type description there is no mention of tubeless usage. I’ve emailed Schwalbe twice asking if a V-guard tire can be used tubeless, but they have never responded. So, anyone know if I could change my V-guard tires to tubeless at some point? Thanks for your help! |
Isn't the Marathon a bombproof tire with a really stiff/rigid ride? I don't see the point of running it tubeless.

Plus tubeless has advantages other than lightness and smooth ride. |

"Marathon" is a product line, not a single product. And the Supreme is very different from the others. When it was introduced, Schwalbe made a point in the marketing that it was using the same soft compound as their racing tires. (Haven't heard that from them more recently, so perhaps the racing tires moved on to other compounds.) I've been using 32mm Supremes for years on my steel touring/winter bike. They have excellent grip in the wet, and, (amazing), also on snow! The only thing they have ever lost grip on is glare ice. |

I’m running the surpreme tubless , 700x35c 60psi front 70 rear. (Palm Springs ca, desert rides.) so far am liking them, but not much to compare too. Not yet worn out a set of tires, to try another brand. |
Thank you all for your info. Yesterday I called Schwalbe Customer Support and they confirmed that the Supreme V-Guard con not be mounted tubless, must have the MicroSkin/TL Easy for tubeless. Nest time. Thanks again! |
