Converting a nexus 8 front dropout to rear dropout
I'm guessing this can be done, yeah?
The wheel set were off a bike with front dropouts, the cable bracket should be below the bottom stay

You need a set of anti rotation washers for horizontal/track dropouts.

There are several different anti rotation washer sets for various dropout types. If I remember correctly, the type for rear facing horizontal dropouts would be #6 (silver/white)
What you can try is reversing the washers you have left to right and right to left. That will sometimes make for a workable positioning of the cassette joint, and it costs nothing to try.
