Hi guys, I recently found what I thought was a good deal for a pair of wheels. They are Specialized Roval 24 SLX Disc. LINK: https://www.specialized.com/pa/en/ro...elset/p/156781

The wheels I got do not appear to be the same as I expected when I looked them up on the manufacturer's website. I asked the seller where they came from and he said they were a take off from his 2018 Specialized Crux Elite.

The problem I am having is the wheelset has through axle front and rear. My Cannondale Hi Mod Super Six Evo Disc has through axle in the front and QR rear. The front wheel fits fine, the rear wheel does not. I thought the wheels had DT Swiss hubs, so I bought an adapter to change it to QR(I thought it would be this simple) but the adapter clearly does not fit this hub on the rear wheel. The hub on the rear is threaded where the end cap goes on, the adapter I was bought is not threaded. I don't think these are DT SWISS hubs as stated on the manufacturer's website. They appear all black on the hub with no markings.

The DT Swiss adapter I bought is part#: HWGXXX0002777S.

I don't know what to do at this point. The wheels are brand new, much lighter than my aksium's I was hoping to replace. Do I need to switch hubs, or get a different adapter, or just get different wheels?

In the Specialized wheel description, it states that the wheels use a Roval (Specialized house brand) hub with DT internals. It also states the rear hub is available as through axle or QR. I'd try a local Specialized dealer and see if they have the adapter you need or if they can get it.
I think most big bike manufacturers (Trek,Giant and Specialized) use the DT freehub system in their nicer wheels, but the rest of the hub is their design.

FYI, called Specialized today and was informed that OEM hubs are not convertible. This includes any bike take-off wheels. If you purchase the wheels only, they come with QR and Through, but use different end caps then the OEM hubs.
