Most of the mount in end of aero/bull horn bars I've played with have less real cable pull then usual drop bar levers. Things like "power" and pad/rim clearances suffer. Andy

If by “side-pull MTB hybrid style calipers “ you mean V-brakes; then pretty much no.

Like AndrewRStewart said, they’re very short-pull levers, even less than regular road bike brake levers.
Even center-pull MTB canti brake levers don’t pull enough cable to run V-brakes without an adapter

maybe a side pull single or double pivot bolt on caliper..
I set up cantilever brakes with those. reverse levers, but both are short pull..

If you feel compelled to use a short pull lever with a long pull demand V brake
QBP Problem Solvers 'travel agents',
go on 1 arm instead of the bent 'noodle' ...

.. if you can find any..

Yea , with a short cable pull , the length of the direct pull brake arms also must be short ..
so no fat tires, as brake cable has to pass over the tire r .

I use them on my STI equipped road tandem with v brakes, works fine. I was surprised that they are no longer being offered by Problem Solvers. I guess its progress.

Look at Tektro RL520 calipers.

They pull a lot of cable, and are designed to work with V-Brakes.

Are these going on Bull Horn bars? They can be "reverse mounted", with the hoods facing the stem, and the levers facing the end of the bars.
