1983 dawes super galaxy

Was out riding today on super galaxy and unfortuntely i strapped the rear derailleur in half and fell off. Am a bit gutted as the bike is completely original apart from the paint work which is hammerite blue....... Having pushed it all the way home I got it off to have a look and I think I have worked out that it must be repairsble as the bolt that attaches the the bottom cogs to the top bit is the bit that gave way, its definitely repairable if I can find the bit or work out what it is, but its so scuffed up there's nothing but made in france on it. The front derailleur is a comp v, and I really want to keep it as original as possible. So if someone can advise me on what to do then it would really help as I am new to all this.

Catalog page for the 1982 super galaxy says it used a Suntour Cylone GT Touring read DR, but it also shows that the front DR is a Cyclone. So maybe not the same for a 1983.

Google up some images of the ones they list for the Super Galaxy and Galaxy. Maybe a visual match will also match you up with a website that has some useful info for you.

Someone in the Classic and Vintage forum might know more. Some of the ones in there with that kind of knowledge might never browse this sub-forum.
