Replace old shifter?

Shimano shifter on old Trek 820. This shifter is broken. Is it replaceable?
It would be nice if I could order some replacements online then swap them out. If so, would these work? If these wouldn't work, can anyone recommend a pair that would? Thanks.

Those will work. Any Shimano 7-speed shifter will work.

These would work too. As would these. I'd take either over the Tourney.

There are also some 3x8 shifters that would work listed on Amazon. You'd just have one extra click. Or you could upgrade to an 8 speed system. You'd just need a new cassette.

What's broken about the current shifter? If it's that the lever moves through it's range without any cable movement, or ratchet involvement, happening then the shifter might just need to be solvent cleaned/flushed then relubed. Andy

The shift lever is loose, it wobbles, and it doesn't engage the ratchet in the shifter body. It seems like its been forced, or it fell on the shifter and broke it.

Thanks everyone for the replies. The bike is a junker and I'm trying to keep it alive. I'll probably end up giving it to some kid.

If all you need to do is "shift", these are inexpensive.

Thanks again for your help, everyone. I ordered these. $10.48 and free shipping on Amazon. Some kid is going to be happy with this bike.
