Clicking sound from chainwheel area

There's a clicking sound with each revolution of the chain wheel of my 2 year old Cube SL Road Pro when riding only.

When on the bike stand it doesn't click and all the chain links are moving freely; one of the chain links has been replaced.

Does anyone know what this might be?

Could be either a worn chain or worn teeth on the chainring

if you grab the chain on the right side of the chainring, see how much play is there

Check the chain ring bolts to make sure they are properly tightened.

Remove the pedals, clean and grease the threads, reinstall with enough torque. It worked for me.

Check that your DS crank isnít tapping the front derailleur cage - last time I tweaked the drive train it ran perfectly on the stand, but the crank tapped the FD when on the road
