Repair Shimano inline barrel adjuster?

I think I over-turned my Ultegra inline barrel adjuster for the front derailleur. It seems to now spin with no effect.

Is there any way to fix this? Or do I need to replace?

I assume replacement involves removing the cable from the housing, popping in the replacement barrel adjuster and the re-setting up the derailleur...no?

Thanks

Sounds like the adjuster has unthreaded completely. It will be held together by the cable's tension. Rethread the two halves of the adjuster back together and adjust the cable tension by using the anchor bolt. Then go back to the adjuster for the fine tuning. If you are unable to get enough cable tension before the inline adjuster comes apart then perhaps an adjuster with a greater range of adjustment is in order. Andy

Thanks both of you.
After futzing with it today with eyeglasses on (always a good idea) it seems the problem is that the whole adjuster is spinning on the cable sheath. I'll just replace it.

Save the parts to the old one, 'cause it's perfectly good. Andy was right ^^.
