Well Bill,
I have used both products and there is a difference. And yer right that 21 years makes a difference. For example: I used to use only Vavloline oils from Ashland Oil Co. in KY. They were refined petrol, and worked well and guaranteed 250,000 miles on an engine. Then the synthetics came along... my new reasoning was that anything the Air Force uses in a jet engine must be good, so I switched. Same 250,000 guarantee on the engine, but a much smoother and less viscous oil. I have been using it on the chains now for the last seven years and it works just fine. Unfortunately the 250,000 mile thing won't hold up for a chain! Smiles, MH

there is a dry version , featuring an evaporating vehicle to carry the solids..

Hi Bob, oh yeah - I'd forgotten about that stuff! I remember trying to source some up here years ago but gave up. I'll retry now. Maybe with some cattle prodding MEC will decide to stock it.
