Looking for replacement pin for Prontool (Lifu) chain tool.....
Years ago, I got this budget bike tool kit, probably from Performance IIRC, with the brand name "Prontool" (yeah, that's PRON tool, not Pro-tool). I've dredged up a couple of these tool sets on-line, and they seem to run well over twice what i paid for mine.
Anyway, the tool kit has been a lifesaver over the years, (mostly on pedals, cassettes, bottom brackets, and hub rebuilds), but last year I managed to bend the pin on the chain tool (though it's still usable, if I'm careful about alignment).
I know it's probably a longshot, but i was hoping to find a replacement pin, to salvage this chain tool. So, anyone know anything about these things?
BTW, I recently ordered the small Park chain tool from a vendor in the UK, and as soon at it arrives ok, I'll probably order a couple replacement Park pins for it, but I'm still hoping to fix this older tool, if possible (and of course, I'll check to see if the Park pins fit, but I'm not too optimistic).
edit: after looking more closely, I see the brand-name "Lifu" on the tool. Also, I just disassembled it, and I'm not even sure it's possible to replace the pin, or at least, I can't figure it out , but they definitely don't easily screw in and out like the Park pins do. ).
