Hey I'm building a bike, and I was wondering how you install a bottom bracket for a 3 piece crank. Do you need a press or can you do it yourself? I have a 20" BMX frame. It seems as it will fit, but I just don't know how to intall it. I have enough tools so that I would be able to do something with it.

All you need is a cup press(the tool you need to install headsets properly), a little bit of grease, a good alignement of the cups.

No tools needed
If you do not have the proper tools it still can be done.
Get a big vise. 2 block of wood and perss the cups.
I do not reccomend using grease but you will get both sides here.

Instead of the cup press or the Clamp, I would greese it then take a rubber mallet and tap it in *assuming the bearings are sealded* if there not try sliding the cups in and when you tension up the cranks Make sure the bearings are in proper or you'll crush them
