Problems replacing a spoke
 

This wheel has been a problem in replacing a broken spoke. The problem is that the spokes overlap the spoke hole so that I can't get a new spoke in. I could slack off the tension on all the spokes but it will be a fair amount of work to retension the wheel. As you can see from the pic, this is the rear wheel, no drive side. Any ideas?

Just losen the spoke that‘s in the way.

I can't quite see the spoke hole for the problem spoke on the picture. In general, though, just worry about getting the spoke through the hole, then weave it through the other spokes after it's seated (or close to seated).

I suspect that you could put the spoke in at an angle and the head will seat against the flange. You'll have to utilize much of the bendy in the spoke, but that's ok.

If not, I think you can just loosen one spoke to get the head to seat.

Right. Yeah it won't sit right (I tried) so loosening one spoke it is.

You could probably safely grind off a portion of the spoke head.

But, as above, it is best to just loosen, or even take loose the offending spoke.

It's normal for a 4 cross build, as said above just loosen 1 spoke.

Exactly, loosen the one spoke to be replaced...a little wiggling, angling, it'll come out from under the crossing spoke.
