Trek Domane AL 2

Hi!
Allow me to ask what kind of (lighter) wheelset which will be compatible with the Domane AL 2 which come with a 8-speed Shimano Claris drivetrain?

I would think just about any road front wheel with rim brake compatibility will interchange. For the rear any 130 wide rim braked Shimano cassetted wheel will fit. Note that both use the common 5mm QR skewer to secure to the drop outs.

This description has been an industry standard for decades and the list of matching wheels is VERY long. Too long for this reply. If you are unable to figure out what all this means and thus be able to determine if a wheel set will fit your bike then that is what the LBS is there for. Bontrager makes some nice wheels that will fit and retain the product family, if that stuff means anything to you. Andy

Thanks for replying. Been in touch with the LBS and as you said very few restrictions on wheelset choice due to 8 speed drivetrain
