Trek Internal Cable Grommet?

I am in the process of installing a dropper post in my 2019 Trek Farley 5. The internal routing of the cable seems like it should have some sort of grommet because the hole is way too big. I did an online search and it appears that most people just accept this big hole, but it is bothering me. Is there supposed to be a grommet for the cable entry port in the seat post, or is this the way Trek designed it?

You can use Sugru to mold your own custom grommet/gasket: https://sugru.com/
