Brake arm clamp
I apologize to anyone that already read this thread in the Cruisers section. I should have posted in here first
I just bought an Electra Mod (British racing heritage model) and it has a S-A drum brake up front (aftermarket). It works great, but the band that secures the torque arm is too narrow. The fork blade is 28 mm (1 1/8") The band is for a 22 mm (7/8") blade. It looks awful as the extra long bolt used is arched around the circumference of the blade tube. Is there any way to get a wider clamp? S-A does not make one. It's functional, but looks awful on such a pretty bike. The clamp has a risen slot to hold the tip of the arm. It does not bolt through the arm. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b6d0a92e24.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...83391d4640.jpg |
I'm thinking a couple of stainless steel hose clamps and a hard rubber or soft plastic sleeve to protect the blade. ya think?
