Rear Derailleur replacement

Got a bent Tourney 6-7 speed long cage with a single front gear and 14-28 rear cassette. Going to replace. Any recommendations on an upgrade? Was never really satisfied with the shift quality.
Bike is a 20" Zizzo folder Campo model. Direct bolt hanger.
Shift adjustments never really seemed to hold very long before having to mess with it.
Grip shifter equipped.

Thanks in advance.

The RDER was probably the least likely to cause shift problems.
Cable friction or a "generic" shifter are more likely causes.

Thanks for the response, the shifter is Revoshift SIS and is new, the cable moves freely.
Back to the original question, should I just replace like for like than? Or, are there any other options out there that will work?

Thanks.

We just serviced a Zizzo (or to us old timers a ZuZu as in flower petals in James Stewart's pocket:)) a few days ago. Poor factory assembly and "adjustment" along with common home assembly issues in all the usual parts. Customer only wanted the ft brake fixed. We had to tighten the pedals and bars before we would test ride after the brake work.

Who here remembers that Fram oil filter commercial? "pay me now or pay me later"? Andy

The next level up would be Claris (road series) and Altus (mountain series). Can get these i have used them and they are precise.
