I'm going to be replacing my crankset and bottom bracket. I need to find out what kind I have on this bike. It has a 42 tooth chainring on it, and I want a 26 tooth on it.

I think Andy's in a bad mood today. Hey, relax, it's Friday!

Does it look like this? https://www.google.com/search?q=Rale...hrome&ie=UTF-8

Not so much a bad mood but more that there was no question and just a statement. Why go to the bother of stating publicly your intentions to do something that has no bearing on others? Since I sometimes feel this kind of post is a plea for public approval I offered mine.

But I guess that the OP also reflects the differences in how we interact. The statement could be viewed as a request for others to join in. I grew up with different expectations of how we communicate with each other. But then I am a doctor's kid and was taught that if I miss wrote a phone message, from a patient, it could be harmful to that patient. Andy

It really doesn't matter what crank you have if you are planning on changing both the crank and bottom bracket. The only thing that you have to check is the bottom bracket threading
