hole tube on stem valve

is it worth to patch a tube. if hole is right where stem valve is connects to tube
like right on it

or is tube done???

Safer to replace tube. I don't even try to patch there.

No, it is very unlikely to work. The tube is toast and should be replaced.

Stem failures can't be repaired. Now, was it caused by a puncture, or by damage during inflation? If the latter, it's worth reading up on the technique for avoiding damage to Presta stems when fitting and removing the pump head.

Chuck it.

I've patched a hole near the valve just to get home but the patch never holds for long. Usually comes from a burred edge around the hole in the rim. Check it and deburr the edges. Sometimes just burnishing it with a rounded steel tip will do the trick, but I'll touch it up with a file or moto tool bit.

I've tried it, punching a small hole in the center of the patch and gluing it down. It didn't work! Maybe you'll have better luck.
