Suntour Symmetric shifter setup?

Any considerations for setup of Suntour Symmetric top mount down tube trimming shifters other than tension the FD cable with carriage all the way back?
Also, will Shimano top mount shifters mount on the same boss?
Thanks
Jim

With no barrel adjuster in the front cable run for these levers the options for initial cable tension is pretty much a hit and miss. Since these were a flash in the pan just before indexing took over I doubt many here have personal experience with them. Those, like me, who did likely suffer from memory loss WRT this aspect. IIRC I never placed much value on the auto trimming feature so never bothered much with any specific set up. One would take up any slack with the lever rotation and the auto trimming movement would do the rest, sort of.

I don't remember the compatibility with ST and Shimano on the ST boss. I do remember Shimano having a couple of different "normal side of DT" boss standards though. So I suspect no ST/Shimano interplaying was intended. Andy
