New Bits for Torque Wrench

Wiha 71397 2.0 to 6.0mm Hex Metric Insert Bit, 6-Piece

Will these work fine with my CDI Torque Products TorqControl TLA28NM? The included bits are low quality and I'm looking to upgrade them.

Ya think maybe some links to what you have might be helpful?

I have this (TLA28NM): https://www.torqueproductscanada.ca/...tegory_Code=np

Here's the bits I was considering:

https://www.amazon.com/Wiha-Metric-I.../dp/B07PGX3GW8

These should be perfectly compatible as far as I know, but I thought I'd check first.

Thanks.

I have that same torque wrench. Any 1/4" hex shaft bit will work in it.

I'd go somewhere else for those Wiha bits. $27 is a real premium for 6 bits, even if they are Wiha. McMaster has a 7 piece set for $17. Most of the bits I've purchased from McMaster have been Wiha brand. You can call them and they'll tell you what the brand name is.

Thanks. How do you like this torque wrench? I heard the included bits are soft metal junk and that upgraded bits are a significant improvement.

If I'm trying to hit 10 NM for a thru axle and I have it well lubed with anti-seize, is torquing it to 8 with this tool sufficient?

Why'd you put OP on the ignore list?

How come on torque wrench reviews I commonly read things like this?

Just stripped my seat post clamp barrel nut. I set the CDI Torqcontrol to the specified 5mn and, ta-da! Stripped the barrel nut! Obviously not impressed. The last time the seat post was adjusted was at one of our top local bike shops.

I'd go for the same set sold by Amazon for $7.90

Just 'cause you use a torque wrench doesn't mean you put your brain away. It you're tightening something with a torque wrench if it feels too tight STOP. Check that everything is assembled correctly, you aren't side loading the wrench, and you have the correct torque value set.

Mechanical torque wrenches typically need to be "warmed up" before they will provide the correct torque. With the CDI I store it at a low setting, so before setting the torque I'll toss in a 4mm bit and torque the screws on my stem. The setting is lower than what the stem screws should be torqued to so they don't move, and I can get the wrench to click a couple times, warming it up before I really need to torque something.

Advance Auto has a set of 67 bits in a yellow case for like $10.00. The set has every bit you could ever imagine including metric Hex, US Hex, Torx bits, Straight screw bits, Philips bits, and much more. For the price it is a steal! Here's the link:
