Kickstand conundrum

Hi folks,
My name is Pete, I live near Denver CO with my wife and 8 year old daughter. I have a question for the group: we recently got a new (used) bike for her that doesn't have a kickstand. It's a Malibu Paradise Cove 24" bike. Like this:

(I tried to insert a pic, but it won't let me. It's a Malibu Paradise Cove 24" bike, if you feel like googling it)

My problem is, ours doesn't have a kickstand. I got a generic one from a local bike shop, and it didn't work. The generic one needs frame members that are parallel (or close) to the ground to work right. This bike has frame tubes that bend upwards where the kickstand mounts. It was made of cast aluminum, and I bent it as much as I could to make it work, but it just didn't work. I could fabricate a new one, I suppose, but I'd like a more "bolt on" solution. Thank you for any recommendations!

If it's missing entirely it might be difficult to find a universal mounting kickstand to fit that. But I don't know. I just lay my bikes down down or prop it up on something.

I got out of liking kick stands when they started coming open after hitting bumps and things when I rode extra hard bumps and stupidly trying to jump things as a kid.

I like the Greenfield Stabilizer rear-mount kickstand: Welcome to Greenfield Industries, Inc. - Freeport, New York - Quality U.S.A. Die Caster https://smile.amazon.com/Greenfield-...dp/B002FVYTLI/

I've got a few bikes with the Greenfield rear mount kickstands. They come with plastic sleeves for the frame at the contract points.

Thanks everyone! Those rear mount stands look perfect. I didn’t even know they were a thing. I appreciate all your help!

I'm sorry your parents were eaten by wild kickstand.

The rest of us know that they're very handy on kids bikes, and save lots of wear and tear.
