KMC chain noise after using Campy Record

in a moment of weakness i replaced 10 sp Record with KMC, silver, supposedly to be a good one, but it makes too much noise particularly on small chainring - biggest cog combo. chainring is new, cassette is in great shape. tried with the old chain (not yet worn out to be out of use), no noise. all other things perfect, RD etc.
is this common, or i bought a lemon (plenty of good reviews for this chain on amazon, but take it with the a grain of salt)? i've never had this issue with SRAM, Shimano chains, let alone Campagnolo. it takes a bit of time to break them in, but none of them was this noisy initially.
thanks for the feedback

"KMC Chains are made by KMC Chain Industrial Co Ltd, a roller chain manufacturer in Taiwan with outlets in the US and Europe.

They
make and manufacture bicycle chains, as well as other components under the name of KMC, and distribute them to other companies, including Shimano."

Why not a Campy chain, for 10 speed and below and 12 speed and above Campy works with Campy? 11 speed is kind of where everyone sort of came close enough to work together-ish with chains and cassettes and of course ability to use different cranks. Not in every single situation always but generally it has been shown to work.

I personally would keep Campy with Campy.

that's obviously the best....only one and the last experiment...after so many years with campy i forgot how superior their chains to everything else are.
cheers

I'm using a Campy Record EPS v3 drive train. My cassette, however, is a Chorus 11 spd 12-29. For some reason, the one KMC chain I tried just could not be made to shift quietly across the 3 smallest cogs, especially on the small (34 T) chain ring. Got another Campy chain and it works fine. Haven't tried another KMC since so I can't say whether this was just a one off experience or something more consistent.

I use KMC chains (the cheapest ones) on my Campy Record 9 and 10 speeds. I noticed they were a little noisy. But after using them for years, I don't notice it anymore. Then again, after 30+ years around loud equipment my hearing isn't what it used to be.

we try and fail miserably; lesson learned: never try (HS's wisdom quotes..)

conclusion - stick to Campy, buy plenty of chains, discounted if possible, ride and prosper.

thanks to all who contributed, apparently if this happens, it's possible, not all the time, but this has never been an issue with Campy, 8 chains so far...

I had a similar experience with Chorus 11 speed - Campy chain silent and KMC noisy. I just went back to Campy.
