Help finding replacement front derailleur

We got a nice Motorbecane in with a tall frame but it had a broken derailleur hanger and the front der is way too stiff. We sourced the hanger and that is now installed but having problems locating a replacement FDER.

Original DER is a Shimano Tourney with a 34.9 clamp, FD-A073 (50T) , bottom pull only. We tried a few salvaged FDERs but they were all dual pull types and thus the up/down cable mechanism hits the tire when shifting as the seat tube is very close to the tire. We always found the Tourneys stiff and prefer something with a little less tension

Any one got a lead for a replacement DER that fits the bill and won't break our bank?

Thanks

yes we saw that on ebay

I guess you didn't see where we said we found the Tourneys very stiff for the front DER and looking for something with less tension.

Also we are a volunteer charity shop and think that price is high

If I was going to stick with this brand/model I would by it here
https://www.gbs.bike/product/shimano...r-360846-1.htm and save a few $$$$, I even have a friend that goes to Tallahassee weekly that could pick it up saving shipping costs.

When you fix 1,700 bikes a year you need to watch the purse strings :twitchy:

Before buying a new derailer, I'd make sure (1) the cable was attached correctly; (2) the pivots were lubed; and (3) I'd replace the cable and housing. If none of those work, hit up your LBS to see what fits and is available.

cable, housing and control were checked out, put in a new cable anyway for kicks and giggles. Derailleur was lubed but was badly rusted but manually activating it seemed like return spring was very strongly wound (too tight). Both our go-to LBS shops have nothing to fit the bill. The problem is the return spring, plain and simple. Thanks

New FDER came in but it also feels stiff working it in my hands but not as bad as the old one, I'll see later how it works on the bike when I get to the shop.

Wonder if this might work: R8 Front Derailleur 3x8 | microSHIFT

Thanks freeranger
It might, I wish they would provide actual top views (with the clamp mount) so I could see the clearance from the derailleur to the rear tire as that was the issue with a few dual pulls I tried.
