oooh. A test of knowledge! I hope the OP knows and is just playing with us.

I've no idea, I've never seen anything like that. I'd love to speculate. But apparently we aren't to be given such information to be able to base our speculation on.

All I can say is the pieces on the skewer look more like something I'd make myself on a metal lathe if I had one. They don't quite have the appearance of something manufactured for for the masses. More looking like custom made for something specific. If it was mass marketed, then it was a very small market share. The wedge suggest it was holding inside a shaft and not on the end. So I don't think it would have been from a wheel. Although maybe some home made attempt to make QR's for through axles. But I cant imagine how those alone would work without more modification of the axle.

Bikes aren't the only things that use skewers.

They are just spares They are not the current ones iM using . Iíve never seen it like this either
