Grip Glue.
I used hair spray to secure my grips and it didn't work.
Even after 24 hours they twist easily. (rubber grips, not foam) Before buying a tube of special use adhesive, I would like to know if there are any other household solutions I should try like: Rubber cement super glue gorilla glue spray paint I would prefer the strongest solution possible, water proof, fully expecting to have to cut the grips off with a plasma torch, type of strength. Thanks! |
After install hundreds of sets of grips, I would never glue them. I have found that sometimes a single layer of electrical tape applied first helps keep grips tighter

Spray paint usually works pretty well.

I apply rubbing alcohol to the bar and inside of the grip, and then shoot compressed air between the bar and the grip while sliding the grip on, using a can of duster with a thin straw. The air expands the grip slightly, and helps the alcohol to evaporate as you slide the grip on. Wait a few hours for any remaining alcohol to evaporate, and you should be good to go.
Or just use this: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...be761c104f.png If your grips twist, they might have gotten moisture or sweat between them and the bar. Be sure the outside edges are sealed with an end plug or cap. |
What kind of hair spray did you use? I've always used AquaNet and never had a problem. I've been told that cheaper hair sprays were more effective and AquaNet was the cheapest I could find.
That said, I'm wondering why hair spray didn't work for you. My suspicion is that you have some other unusual problem affecting your grips. |

Also considered the motorcycle grip glue. Because i'm lazy, I tried some rando glue in my junk drawer that seems to be a cross between contact cement and super glue. I'll report back after a few rides to see if it holds. Thanks for the input guys! |
