Blackburn frame pump

I tried using this pump but for some reason it pushes out the rubber component. Am I doing something wrong with this pump or is it missing something?

is this wrong?

It looks like the threaded ring that holds the seal inside the pump head has its threads stripped, as it appears to be inside the cover (the "lip" that I marked is what I think is the ring):

If that were the case, you need to remove it from the cover and then you can glue the ring (permanently) on with Shoe Goo, E6000 or the like, or replace it. Have you tried calling/writing Blackburn and see it it can be warranty covered?

It looks like there are some threads on that piece so have you tried screwing it on? Agree with juan el boricua that the screw on piece is separate from the rubber cover it's sitting in as well.

Guys you know what's weird, I gave this to someone and it was returned to me. However, that cap doesn't have a hole in it? WTF? Check out these two pictures, something must have been changed because their is no way to hold in the components.

Seems like the screw on cap is stuck in the dust shield. Does the part with Blackburn on it have internal threads? If so, it's actually 2 separate pieces, 1 a retaining ring that holds the grommet in the head and a flip top dust cover.

Looks like someone tried to use the pump and attempted to gain access by unscrewing the dust cover instead of just prying the soft rubber/plastic up.

yeah...looks like the part that screws on is stuck inside the cap.

Maybe the threaded piece on the body of the pump is broken off. There are only two threads and the lighter gray looks like broken plastic.

You guys are the best, what I did was take the end of the screw driver placed it on the threads and pried it out, no it works!!!! I can't believe this was like that, unbelievable. Thanks for all of your suggestions!!! I do have a picture but sending things on email takes forever

Yes, the dust seal is pop-top, not twist-top. We need a better beer emogi.
