Pedal Washers
For some reason lately I have been hitting my left inside ankle against the crank once in a while. I have been know to do this but I would rather not. I think at Pedal Washer will easily take care of this and I can adjust my cleat to fan my ankle out a bit. My question is I see pedal washer for sale but would the basic hardware store have the same thing I can simply go buy. My guess is that I could find something really close. Otherwise I simply have to order some. I have a Shimano 6800 crank and 105 pedals.

Any stainless steel washer of the right diameter should work; not sure if you can get it at the hardware store or not as I just bought pedal washers on Amazon. I was told to put no more than 2mm of washers on my Ultegra cranks, so I would not go over that.

You could try these copper car banjo bolt washers at O'Reilly's auto parts or whatever chain you have nearby. 9/16" ID and 1/16" thickness-(1.5875 millimeters) I can't tell if the price for "each" means a package of the 10 in the photo or just 1 washer though. Are your cleats as far to the inside as possible already? "Fanning" your cleat out or even going to zero float cleat might help as well.

If this is a recent thing it might also be worth considering the health side. As we grow older our joints wear and become prone to different conditions like arthritus, which can change how we position our feet on the pedals. Have you increased the amount of riding you do recently, or played other sport that might account for the change?
