Mounting hole repair?

Hi, I was trying to mount a new rack and I had a bolt shear off, so I thought tap it, remove it and carry on but disaster, the mounting hole weld broke, have I got any options?

(I'm a noob here so I can't post pic)

Have you tried creating an album in your user profile here at BF and uploading the pic there? My understanding is that photos there should be viewable to all.

That can be easily replaced with a new Rivnut. Find a shop with a Rivnut tool or purchase a cheap tool to install a new one. It was probably an M5 sized insert.

that hole can let water in. a real hack would taping it over & using p-clamps on both sides to hold the rack. but that looks like a nice bike. so try the good way first!
