Fixing stain/corrosion on CAAD 10 Alloy bike

What options do I have for removing the stains you can see in the photos?

Example of the stains.

I'd try a fine, stainless steel wire brush and done by hand which should match the original finish. Looks like some slight gouging so the brush should blend it a bit without taking off much if any metal. Go easy at first as aluminum can be worn down fairly fast.

Can you tell if the frame is clear coated? If so than any effort to remove the stains will also have to be happy with the cleat coat The spot in the center of the photo sure looks like corrosion fingers growing under a paint coat.

I would also be concerned about this kind of "aging" where you can't easily see it, like between the various fasteners or bearing units and the frame. Andy

Thanks Andrew. The frame is clear coated. If I brush out the corrosion, what can I use for clear coat?

Whatever you try to do with touching up the clear coat know that it will likely show a lot (if you had the skills to really blend in a touch up you wouldn't have asked). For this reason simple nail polish is a fine spot coating.
