Questions on bar taping
I am rebuilding my bike and retaping the handlebars after rebuilding the headset and replacing the cables, I am retaping the bars. The Brifters are older Campys guessing about 30 years old? I used the Up and over technique to get around the shifters. Because of the thumb shifters it is running into and interfering with the tape coming up and over. Can this tape be cut and glued into place? I also have the extra piece of tape on the back of the shifters causing issues that would benefit from a touch of glue. Is there a glue that could be used to hold a cut or small piece of tape in place?
Here is a video of the method I am trying to use. Method starts at 8:10

You should do the figure 8 wrap. Also you MUST cut the tape so it doesn't go into the gap where the thumb button moves. If you tape like you have the shifters won't work. I've built hundreds of bikes w/ old Campy Ergo levers, I know what I'm talking about. Pull the hood forward and slice the tape along the edge of that slot.
