Shimano SL-M730 SIS shifter compatibility
Just got this shifter to run a 1x6 setup. Am I restricted to only Shimano SIS rear derailleurs? I'm using a 13-30 Shimano freewheel. Thanks

"In general" Shimano SIS rear derailleurs from 6-10 speed road and 6-9 speed mountain play together. There are certain dura ace and Tiagra 4700 that don't conform.
Basically any Shimano RD that has the capacity (chain wrap, large cog size) you need will work.

You have a friction mode, so it'll pretty much shift any RDER within its travel range.

It's worth mentioning that these have a "hidden" click which allow indexing to 7sp.
