English BB threading
I want to upgrade my old bike with a new frame. The older Shimano Ultegra 7/8 speed STI has worked well and I don't need anything else. Just want to replace the older Vitus 992 aluminum with a carbon or titanium frame.
The Qs I have concerns bottom bracket threading. I've seen mentions of 'English BB threading' in my frame search.
What does my Vitus/Ultegra have?
What threading do Colnago, Pinarello, Masi, Merckx etc have?
If this is an issue, do I just require a new bottom bracket or does it also impact the crank and possibly other components?
Thanks

Don't matter what your old frame has since you ought to get a new bottom bracket to fit the new frame. Italian and English are the two main types, English 68mm being a bit more popular.
