toe clips....again

I recently added toe clips to my bike and I am having trouble installing the straps. Anyone have any help? I tried online and I can't figure it out. Any help? They are Bontranger toe clips.

I got that far, but I am having a hard time getting the straps past the teeth. Any suggestions?

The buckle is mounted on a spring. Push the buck'e and it should open up, allowing the strap to slide through under the teeth. This allows you to tighten/loosen the straps 1 handed while riding.
