Campy Nuovo Record in Black?

So I have this Campy front derailleur. I think it is Nuovo record, not sure. Before I did some cleaning and scrubbing , the part outlined in the photo was definetaly black. Now it's just discolored. Was this really made in black? I'm not sure if I should repaint it, polish it, or what. Thank you.

Part of the Super Record fd was anodized in black. (See below.). Many owners tried to imitate it with enamel on their Nuovo Record parts (like yours).

Campy painted or anodized their 1st gen Super Record derailleurs with some black.
These parts otherwise did not initially differ from Nuovo, until a year or two later.
Very rare component. Sorry to see it lose the black. Tough piece to try to repaint.

Thank you. I was considering disassembling it and repainting that section. Sigh. It was on a bike where the Campy pedal cages were black.

only the arms were black on the late FDs. The part you have outlined was never supplied in black from the factory

someone may have painted it black in the distant past. These parts are not uncommon, can be sourced from ebay if you are not happy with this one
