Fork Compatibility
 

Hello,

I just purchased a Framed Basswood Titanium Gravel frame and need to buy a fork and headset. I'm unsure of what will be compatible. The only info I have is:

• Head Tube: Oversized Straight; IS42 / EC56

I'm guessing I need a fork with a straight steer tube, although it does look like most newer forks are tapered. How do I know what fork and headset will fit this frame? or or what measurements do I need to know to pick a compatible fork and headset? I'm thinking 100 x 12mm that can fit up to a 48mm tire. Any input would be appreciated.

According to search results, they apparently have a Facebook page under the name FramedBikes, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Try asking there about fork compatibility.

I did, and there really isn’t much info out there. I did get this response from someone with the same frame:

- im running a whisky no9 cx fork and a risk headset with a 44/56 so it will fit the tapered fork

I’m just not quite sure what that means. I sort of want to know what info is needed to determine what fork will compatible, that way I can maybe take measurements myself if needed.

44 refers to the ID of the top of the head tube, 56 to the bottom. It looks like the bearings will fit a 1-1/8" x 1-1/2" tapered fork.
