Cross brake lever, V brake
I've spent a long time trying to figure out my ideal handlebar/brake combination for my Van Dessel CRB. I've decided on 43cm Syntace Stratos 200 TT bars. They have 26.0 mm clamps.
I'd like to keep my "V" brakes so I need brake levers with a long pull. Below are the three options I came up with. Help and advice would be appreciated.
1) I'd like a cyclocross lever because my hands gravitate to the stem. Salsa, Cane Creek, and Tektro cross levers don't pull V brakes according to their manuals. Does anyone disagree? Paul Components doesn't suggest that their crosslever, which works with V brakes, may be used as a primary lever. Has anyone tried the PaulComp lever as a primary?
2) I could use a reverse lever at the bar end. I can't find any that will pull a V brake. Any links?
3) A travel agent w/ cyclocross levers. The TA seems like an inelegant solution that look prone to failure, although I have never heard anything bad about them. Do they do the trick? If I do get a Cyclocross lever that is incompatible with V brakes is there any particular model of TA I should get?
Thanks you guys and gals.

I dunno about experimenting with the brakes. I would not want to find out the hard way that they don't work. I agree that the Travel Agent is very inelegant. Dunno about the Pauls but I know they are $$$$$; too much for me anyway.
If you have V-brakes I think you can mount cantilever brakes on those bosses. I have Avid Shortys on my rig, with Shimano Sora road levers as the primary, and generic cross levers. But that doesn't leave you with your V-brakes, unfortunately.
Might also try posting in the Cyclocross forum if you haven't already. Guessing this is not a new problem.
