Joe Blow floor pump recall

Copied from the roadbikerider newsletter:

PRODUCT RECALL: About 3,000 Joe Blow floor pumps are
being recalled after the report of an eye injury caused by a
part popping off.

The recalled pumps are numbered 200003-200012 and
200101-200108.

Todson, the distributor, is replacing the pumps with a
different Joe Blow model or giving a refund. If you have one
of the potentially dangerous pumps, return it to the
retailer or call Todson at 800/213-4561, ext. 350.

Thanks for the heads up roadbuzz, did the article say if the Joe Blow Sport model was included? Maybe you can post a link?

Todson is replacing them with the PX model. This is a superior pump to the Comp. Todson is giving the consumers a great deal here.

I talked to somebody at Todson/Topeak about the Comp because I wasn't sure which model I had. The Comp has a plastic body, and there weren't many sold. I'm guessing it could burst under pressure.

I agree, Hunter. My experience with Topeak (Joe Blow Pro, Road Master Blaster, Alien XS) is that they make excellent products and stand behind them. Where there's a problem, they're quick to make things right.
