If you can get the rest of the nipple out without damaging the thread in the rim, sure. If it's for a front rim, the part number is V2271601. If it's rear, drive side, it's V2271701, non-drive side, V2271801. Mavic seems to prefer dealing with dealers rather than retail customers, so find a neighborhood dealer who can order the spoke/nipple kit for you.

The brass nut on the tip of the spoke screws off just like any other spoke nipple but is crucial to the spoke and rim fitment. Save the brass nipple piece and get a new spoke, then reassemble with the left hand rim nipple on the spoke, next put on the brass nipple, and then install the spoke. There was a recent post in the C&V thread about replacement spokes from one of our members. HTH, Smiles, MH

Here's a place that sells the spokes with photos of the nipples if that helps. https://www.mavicparts.com/collectio...ic-road-spokes

Spokes break. Whenever I buy new Mavic wheels, they include spare spokes and nipples. The repair is simple enough, I’ve done it on the roadside on bike tours.

Thanks for the comments but I'm not worried about any of that. My problem is getting the remnants out of that blind hole. The replacement part is TabA/SlotB stuff.

Thanks again
Charlie

I've never seen one of these nipples in real life so just guessing here. Does the spoke remnant just push through the nipple into the rim? (or you could try pushing it in just a little so the spoke end will come out with the removed nipple) If so, you could probably just use a small sheet metal or wood screw to screw into the nipple and since it has reverse threads it would spin out. Fishing out the old spoke end from inside the rim may be a PITA but possible.

Earlier this year Mavic opened a USA parts warehouse again.
They had closed up shop during financial issues.
So parts are again available.

This might also help you.

Interesting that the rim brake version of this wheelset now has 19mm internal rim width and (somewhat oddly) is 135mm at the rear axle, assuming that it isn't just a mis-print.

I say oddly, because only hybrids and some cyclocross bikes used 700c wheels with 135mm rear axle spacing.

You never know what evil lurks in the mind of Big Wheel.
