I need freehub help please
 

Hello, how are you?
I need your help, my bike is damaged, I need to replace the freehub and I don't know any information about it, can you guide me on what is the most appropriate freehub for my bike.
My bike
Cube Stereo 120 HPA race (black 'n' blue) model 2016 29"
Speed s11 (3×11)

Hi, you would be much better off posting this in the "Bicycle Mechanics" forum. Since you are asking about a freehub you need to include information about the wheel itself, what brand, how many speeds, etc. The more information the better so that you don't get a bunch of nasty/snotty/snarky replies there.

PS Make sure also to explain how you know that it is the freehub that is bad, did you do something to it? is it making a noise? when does it make the noise? Etc. the more info the better

does the rear hub say "Shimano" and/or "XT" on it? is there a Model Number visible on that rear hub??

and, considering the lack of specifics, and panic level noted... you might be better off if you take the wheel to a bike shop and have them take a look/fix it for you.

Assuming you need a new freehub, you need to know what brand hubs you have. I poked around, and all I found is the manufacturer says you have a Fulcrum wheelset without listing the hub manufacturer. Without the brand and model of the rear hub, there’s no way to know.

If you're going to re-build your current wheel with a new hub, just make sure it's the right cassette mount, the right brake mount, the right axle, the right dropout spacing, and the same number of spokes as your rim. If it's not exactly the same hub, you'll probably need new spokes too.

That bike should have an "Answer Atac MA" wheelset, but I can find no information on what rear hub it uses.

so the bike shop is a best choice... second option is to take pics of the hub with the cassette removed, then post them here, hoping someone recognizes the hub...

freehubs are not universal parts, and they are certainly not "standardized' in any way...many will only work on their specific hub assembly.

Contacting Cube may be helpful too... they may have specific Hub brand/model info for you, and may even offer a replacement freehub... but don't get your hopes up.

what is your best description of the problem? do you own a proper cassette remover socket and chain whip tool?
freehubs are sometimes mounted to the hub body by a large 12 point internal drive "bolt"... 12 or 14mm allen wrenches are used to remove many of them... others are "swedged" together, and are not serviceable...
i see that your hub is a thru-axle design... is it micro- spline, or Shimano Hyperglide, in regard to the freehub?
SRAM has a couple different configs too...

still thinking taking it to a shop will be the best choice here... lots of possible stumbling blocks, dozens of optional configurations to weed through...

"no name" means Joytech/Novateck, or one of many Formula hubs, usually...

something to consider too... a 2016 bike may not have the original wheels or hubs still on it... did you buy the bike new, or as a used bike?

28 spoke, Shimano CS-M8000 11 speed HG cassette, 12x142 thru axle according to the spec (from pictures it looks like 6 bolt rotor) but of course it's best to check what's actually there rather than what should be there.

The manufacturer's email or phone number can supply you with the information you need. It also helps to remove the freehub and be able to look at it as you find listings that purport to match it.

I would agree with post #2 that you need to find out what is wrong with your freehub or give us some symptoms of the problem. It may be an easy fix instead of a replacement.

Indeed, if it fails to take up drive, or it drags, it might just need a squirt of solvent, but if it's seized there's likely to be a more substantial problem. I guess this is why we shouldn't answer an OP's question, but instead ask them why they're asking it.

Consider putting your problem in the title. It makes things much easier for the reader. Otherwise every thread would say "help."

but typing in the Fulcrum Red 66 draws a blank on that despite dozens of Red wheel. There are a couple of

Thank you everyone, I emailed cube services and they told me this:

It's a Shimano XT CS-M8000, 11-40T freewheel and an Answer attac freewheel body.
In France, Axoreo manages the Answer atac brand.
You should be able to find this at a bike shop, even if it's not a CUBE Bikes shop.

Cube haven’t managed to figure out the right terminology in spite of supplying a World Tour team then 😁 - there is no freewheel on this, they mean cassette and freehub as you correctly said.

Axoreo’s site doesn’t find that freehub. A “popular question and answer website that may not be named” thread says Answer used to be owned by Hayes who no longer have that brand listed (Axoreo also list Hayes stuff) and I can only find BMX parts being currently marketed directly by Answer. There’s a chance they shared components with another Hayes brand. Axoreo might well be able to help.

(I have had 4 Cube bikes, I think they’re great)
