Which wheels to buy?
 

Hi, I have a gravel bike currently had a 2x7 drivetrain with a 700c freewheel hub on rear. I'm swapping drivetrain soon with a Wheetop 1x gravel drivetrain. So basically I can run any size cassette on the rear.
I'm looking to save money on buying a used wheelset. There are lots of takeoffs available in my area as well as 29er wheels. The clearance on the bike is 50mm or 1.96 inches.

Both the fork and frame have traditional drop outs. No through axle. Spacing on the rear is 142.

What are my options? Can through axle wheels be converted to skewers? If I buy 29er wheels what do I need to look for.

There's probably a bunch of information I'm leaving out. wrenching is new to me but I'm putting in the work. Thanks in advance.

A Quick-release hub with 142mm spacing? That is very unusual. Are you sure you measured correctly?

I've learned more about wheels! Yes, 135 is the spacing..
