Is this a DUB crank?

I think I messed up when tired on ebay. At first glance I thought this was GXP but in the cold light of day I think I’ve bought a DUB version?

If so, question 2;
Does anyone have a preferred option for squeezing one of these into a road PF shell designed for 24mm axles? I’ve seen a few options none of which seem ideal.

Well, is the axle 24mm or 29mm?

What is a "road PF shell for 24mm axles"? You mean like Trek BB90? I doubt you can run bearings in a 37mm shell for a 29mm spindle. That's 4mm.

Like one you’d normally stick this in

This bloke

This is a Cube frame so suspect not the most precise alignment.

I won’t know until it arrives but it looks fat to me.

Cancel the order

How about the rest of the pictures?

What kind of BB?

Don't make this a mystery.

Rest of the pictures don’t show the axle, just the Quarq cranks and close-ups of the chainrings. But here’s the listing if it clarifies anything.

Sorry, I don’t quite understand the question. There is no BB, I’m asking what sort of BB might be best (or least worst) for this somewhat mismatched application should it turn out I bought the DUB version. But it sounds/looks from eric’s photos above like maybe my first half-asleep instinct was right and that is GXP which would be great as it’ll be a straight swap as there’s a GXP BB in there at the moment.

Can’t cancel the order, they shipped it while I was asleep :D

Interesting that it's a SRAM format crank with Shimano rings. Unless SRAM has different spline patterns for MTB DUB and road DUB, it looks to me like it's 24mm GXP. Good luck!

What brand and model frame is it you want to fit this crank into? The part where the frame attaches is also called the bb.

Link is dead.

Totally. And I had forgotten Dub and GXP attach on opposite sides.

Link worked for me. You have to click the second link - "see original listing". It doesn't show anything helpful, nor is there a description that indicates the format.

If sounds to me like it's going to work as intended. GXP replacing GXP.

bboy314 07-15-25 06:25 PM

Sure looks like GXP from here.

maddog34 07-15-25 07:05 PM

Dub is rounded splines, and they mesh into the drive side... spindle dia. looks under 1" too...

i think you're fine, choddo. :thumb:

Oh weird. Just copied it from ebay before pasting. Maybe an ebay us vs uk issue

It’s BB86. The bike is a Cube Agree GTC 2015.

choddo 07-16-25 03:06 AM

Haha oh yeah the DUB axle (spindle!) is attached to the NDS arm. Kind of a giveaway isn’t it, had no idea.

nice, thanks all.

BB86 is just large enough to get bearings around a DUB spindle, while BB90 is not.

37 vs 41mm OD?
