I don't understand the assessment? The overhead misalignment is still visible when I take the caliper off the bike, as shown here:

Thank you for the additional pic.. the Left Pad mount is twisted inward at the front, and also, probably, bent back too.
remove the pads, compare the appearance of the two pad mount slots' VERTICAL alignment to each other.
in the past, brake pads had zero adjustment available, except in the up-down mounting slot... people would then twist the mount to better align the pads to the rim, or eliminate squealing... modern pivot-able pads eliminate the need to twist the pad mounts.
that pivot-able pad allowed the pad to be aligned to the rim, but also shifted the pad back some.

So, when I put ruler across the leading edge of the caliper arms as well as the leading edge of the mounting bolts, I see very little difference.
Perhaps it’s not the arms, but the aftermarket pad holders that are different?

Pretty sure he ruled that out up-thread

OK, but still. Use a ruler, look closely at the pictures. Where is the misalignment?

That was an interesting thought on the holders. I took the pads out and held them against each other. They're definitely a match.
I think the arms are both bent in the same direction. I held it up against a switch to use as a straightedge, and drew the red box, and you can see how both arms seem to angle to the left.

3rd pic shows exactly what i mentioned earlier... the slotted portions of both arms are tweaked... left(in pic)one is worse that the other...

get out the 8" adjustable wrench, and make them in line to the vertical plane, 90* to the horizontal plane.

i bet the pads' uneven-ness nearly vanishes.
