Ticking noise - driving me crazy
I have a Lemond Zurich, Ultegra with Ultegra SPD pedals.
When I get up out of the saddle, there is this consistent ticking sound and I cannot figure out where the heck it is coming from. Only when I get up out the saddle.
I just had my bike in for a major tuneup after owning it about a year. There can be nothing seriously wrong, or I think the shop would have pointed it out.
Any suggestions on where I should first look?
Thanks

The problem with such sounds is they are readily transmitted from point of origin thru the frame. What sounds like a bottom bracket creak could be the seat post.
In your case, we can probably rule out the seat post. I highly doubt it is a serious issue.
Likely culprits include:
bottom bracket cups not properly prep'd with grease or teflon tape or anti-seize or not properly torqued
pedal not properly torqued to crank arm (this one took me weeks to track down once)
head set
handlebar fasteners not properly torqued.
Be patient and concentrate on one item at a time, as a process of elimination. I know it's annoying - too bad you just can't turn up the radio to drown out the clicks.

I had something similar when my bike was new. It started making a ticking noise after 1000km. After tightening the crackset in the bottombracket the problem disappeared and never came back.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The ticking noise is consistent. When the right crankarm is down - tick. When the right crankarm is straight up - tick.
I think it is probably the pedals or crankarm and will look more closely at these.
