BBs at the Co-op

Hi Folks,

At the Co-op we’ve had some bikes come in with sealed bottom brackets that are shot, and replacements are going to be ordered.
With just the Shimano UN-300, there are at least eight 68mm options.
Are there a few common sizes to have on hand?

Thanks and good health, Weogo

122 and 127mm are probably the most common for modernish bikes. We stock 110, 113, 118, 122, and 127 at my shop, in 68 and 73mm shell widths.

Hi BBoy,

We have vintages from the 1960s to fairly new. Mostly 68mm and square taper.
What you stock looks like a good list for us.

Thanks and good health, Weogo

113/68, 118 in 68 and 73 widths, 123/73 are the most common used here.
i keep a 110/68 and a 127/73 in stock too.
there are always others used occasionally, but they're a week or less away, so,meh...

After a while, you'll get an idea of what you need most often.
If nothing else, having one each of the "oddball" sizes will cover you.
Not sure how frequently you'll re-order, but if somewhat frequently, setting a bike aside while waiting for an oddball may not be a big deal.

When I was flipping bikes, mostly late 80's early 90's vintage, I seemed to use a lot of 122 & 127's.
