Finally, no more noise outta my Titanium bike!

Hi All. At the start of the season I purchased a 2005 Merlin Extralight... Its a great Ride.
About a month ago, I started getting a ticking noise. It was driving me insane. It would make a metallic tick with every hard effort. I thought it was the BB, cables, seat post, cassette... basically everything but the actual source. That ticking noise would kill every ride. I didn't feel like riding when I would here it. Well, after todays ride I'd had enough. After a whole month of pure agony, I thought hard of what I didn't try yet and of what it could be... Well, I didn't try the watter bottle cages. I took them off and went for a test ride... VOILA... No more noise!! Now, I can finally sleep at night... and start enjoying my rides again.
Anyhow.. the search function on this forum is great. I got alot of good ideas and help searching threads.
Thanks.

Is this REALLY about your annoying tick, or did you just wanna pimp your precious metal?

Were the cages just loose or were your feet hitting them? Did you try putting the cages back on with a little Loctite blue?

So now you're going to ride without water? I expect the tick was from the "rivnuts" that the bottle cage bolts thread into. If they come loose, they will rattle and are hard to trace. Have your dealer check them and tighten them if needed. He should have the required tool.
