brake mod for stroke victim
Hi, A guy came into the shop where I help out at the weekend looking for a bike he could ride now that he is recovering from a stroke. He has very limited use in one arm / hand and would need to work both brakes with the other hand. I have in the past put both levers on one side and that worked fine for a friend with 1.5 arms but I subsequently have seen single lever / dual cable items.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a bespoke item that I can get hold of for this guy? I realise I could bodge something or simply tell him to go slower and use one brake but know the mod esists and I'd rather offer a well engineered solution.
Thanks for your help

You may want to do a search. If memory serves me, somebody a few weeks ago posted about a site that caters to handicapped riders. Don't recall the exact forum or thread it was in. Sorry.

There is a local guy that was set up with a coaster brake and a grip shift control for an internal gear hub. He has an artifical arm. The grip shift was just put on the good arm side. He rides a lot, I see him often.
